Meet the Team - Stacey
My passion is helping people communicate.
Stacey McAllan is a Dispute Resolution Practitioner, practicing lawyer and founding partner of Start at Mediation. After completing an Alternate Dispute Resolution elective as part of her law studies, Stacey was inspired to pursue a career in mediation, and particularly, helping people experiencing conflict to find solutions without the financial and emotional costs of going to court. An advocate for participatory decision making and self-empowerment, Stacey has a unique ability to help people find their voice and be heard, which in her line of business is an excellent quality to have.
Meet the Team - Rose
Rose is an assistant to mediation facilitator at Start at Mediation.
After graduating High School in 2017 she decided to take a gap year, commencing her combined Bachelor of Social Science (Major in Criminology) and Bachelor of Laws (Honours) at the University of Newcastle in 2018.
During her studies, she focused her elective classes on social justice and human rights. She completed units in family law, child law, international human rights law, and climate/ displacement law, alongside social science subjects exploring feminism, policy development and management, and ethical social analysis.
In her second year of Uni, she began working part-time at a boutique family law firm, where she supported vulnerable clients experiencing domestic and family violence, mental health challenges, or substance dependency. This experience shaped her strong commitment to family law and client-focused advocacy. She has continued working in family law, driven by a passion for supporting individuals through complex legal matters.

Meet the Team - Corrina
Corrina joined our Newcastle office as Receptionist in February 2026, bringing with her over 10 years of experience in client care from her previous career as a dental assistant. Known for her warm and friendly nature, Corrina is passionate about making every client feel welcome and providing a positive experience from their very first interaction with the firm.

Sophie assists Start at Mediation as a Legal Intern, supporting the team while continuing to develop her legal knowledge and practical experience.
